We enjoy hosting visitors at our 1240 N. Clybourn site.  In keeping with the mission of the Resource Center, and for the balance of the ecosystem within our garden and Chicago, the following policies have been established:

• No plastic plates, cups, silverware or other disposable items will be used for food events.  Organizers of food events may choose to bring a supply of utensils for the event--taking them along afterward--or borrow the supply from City Farm/Slow Food--returning them clean after the event.  As an alternative, visitors may be invited to bring their own utensils and cary them out after the event.
  

• No plastic water bottles may be left on site.  Glass bottles may be deposited in the glass container for recycling.  All aluminum, including aluminum foil and trays, may also be left on site in the aluminum container for recycling.
  

• All table trimmings will be separated for compost.  Compost is on site.  A container will be made available for trimmings.  Please be mindful not to drop food on the ground or leave food scraps out in any other manner.
  

• Smokers are requested to use ashtrays.  Please ask for an ashtray to avoid littering the woodchips with cigarette butts.
